Burning River Pale Ale

Another by the Great Lakes Brewing Co, Burning River is a Pale Ale that’s named after the infamous 1969 burning of the Cuyahoga River. Interesting in name, I’m not thrilled with the beer. As I try more Great Lakes beer, I am noticing a signature flavor with these beers. The beer isn’t too hoppy, and I can taste uniqueness in the malts that I just can’t describe. This beer tastes like a toned down version of Eliot Ness Amber Lager.

I don’t have a rating scale, but if I had one this would score the middle of the board. I am excited about moving on to my next round of beer reviews.

I think I disagree with you on this one. I like the hoppiness of it. Not overbearing, like you said, but a great social brew. I wonder what made the river catch on fire? And why did they name a pale ale after it?
