Cordova, From Thompson Cigars

In my combo I received recently from Thompson Cigars, were 5 Cordova 4-in. x 50-ring gauge cigars. I took one of them to work with me and smoked while on an extended break. Maybe it was because of shipping but the cigar burned really hot and fast, and left me tasting straw in my mouth. By the time the amber got near the band the cigar was super-heated far too much to smoke.

I’m not comfortable with doing a negative review but felt I would be doing a disservice if I didn’t call it like it is. Mr. Porch also bought some of these, I’m not sure how he feels about them.

I intend to smoke the remaining 4 of these, and will certainly update this post if I have a different experience with the smokes to come.

I recieved the same sampler, and my first impression of this stubby little cigar was the same as Sam’s. I attributed this to smoking it too soon. Shipping can wreak havoc on the well being of a cigar. But now, 5 days later, 5 days of the other 4 sitting in my humidor, I decided to try another one. It was somewhat better, it tasted less like stale straw and more like a processed cigarette. It burned hot and quick with very little flavor. This is a cigar that you give to a drunk buddy that wants a stogie but has no idea what he is smoking. (yeah I did that this past Saturday night and he had no idea.) Not a cigar I would buy.

[...] Cordovas I still had in my humidor. This is the second Cordova Cigar I’ve smoked since doing my initial review of it earlier last [...]
