Cordova Revisited

Cordova CigarsLast night I was out in my yard, the sun was setting and I thought I’d sit down for a cigar, but wasn’t much in the mood to get all my paper, pencil and other review-related stuff out so I figured I’d smoke one of the Cordovas I still had in my humidor. This is the second Cordova Cigar I’ve smoked since doing my initial review of it earlier last month.

Last week I smoked one at work, and found that it wasn’t as bad as my initial review. The one I had last night didn’t seem bad at all. It had a straw taste to it, but wasn’t bad. It tasted like a decent “Yard Gar” and lasted about 45 minutes to and hour.

So as I thought about it, the only explanation for this is that I got them dried out, and hadn’t been in my humidor long enough to get back to the right humidity. I normally wait a few days after buying new cigars before smoking them, to let them settle out a bit.

Maybe I just got some bad ones, but then again Mr. Porch had the same experience I did with his lot. Well regardless, you shouldn’t have to humidify your cigars for a month before you can smoke them. I’ll upgrade my initial mark of the Cordova from horrible to a low C-.
