As a big fan of the Mexican beer selection, I often feel deceived when "big beer" puts out a Miller Chill, or bud light lime. I buy these selections hoping they would offer the flavors of distinct Mexican style beer, instead they fall short with a sweet wine cooler feel with a bad aftertaste. I guess I will stick to the real thing: Tecate, Sol, Dos Equis, Carta Blanca, Superior, Indio, Bohemia, Noche Buena, Corona, Corona Light, Negra Modelo, Modelo Especial, Modelo Light, and Pacífico.

All these beers could handle a lime and salt on the rim, but certainly not necessary.

Fat Tire? Is that from some micro brewery? I'm interested in giving it a try, maybe I'll do a little research and see if we can get a taste. ANy more info on this beer and I'd be appreciative.

Thanks for the Invite Jeff! As you know I am a huge fan of cigars and beer so it's nice to have this site.

I do have to admit sheepishly that I like Bud Lite Lime and Blue Moon with an Orange Slice. It's probably that I've spent too much time in California.

My favorite beer is one called Fat Tire out of Colorado. It's a nice beer (not fruited) and goes great with cigar by the fire pit.

I agree Sam, I think the big brewers sold out a portion of their man card with this attempt to tap into the wine cooler arena. If you have to fruit your beer to give it flavor, then you are hiding the true taste of your brew. If I was a woman, I believe I would be a little insulted by this feeble attempt to patronize me.
