Nude Beach

Nude Beach is the summertime brew of the Stevens Point Brewery in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. I tried this on a camping trip last weekend with the lovely Mrs. Porch. This was one of the very few weekends we have ever had without the kids or the dogs and I wanted something special. Not being a big fan of wheat beers, the uniqness of the name made me want to try it. So score 1 for their marketing dept.

It poured a cloudy copper, like all wheat beers but didn’t have much of an aroma. It had a bright white head that didn’t last through the first drink and washed clean off the sides after each drink. A little lighter than most wheat beers, which is a plus in my book, and had a nice aftertaste. A clean, crisp finish if you will. My overall impression is, it was a little boring, except for the name. This beer definately has a place around the campfire, but I drank all six and really didn’t feel any effect.

Rating: O+
