As of this writing, I have not had any letter type grading system in any of my reviews. I believe I need one and have given it a lot of thought. I decided to use a variation from several other grading systems I have found on other review sites and forums. Here’s what I came up with:
| Sam’s Cigar Reviews..
A – I like everything about this cigar and consider it top shelf. The appearance of this cigar should be just about perfect, no cap issues and even burn all the way down. Excellent flavor, draw, and really find nothing to complain about An A+ will be reserved for my perfect cigar, I’d be surprised if I ever issue this award. B – This is what I’ll give to really good cigars, but might have some minor construction issues, need relighting or something of that nature. An upper B cigar might be considered on of my special occassion cigars, not one I’ll smoke while cutting the grass. C – These cigars are good enough to buy and enjoy, but they’ll stay at the bottom of the humidor. These are the everyday cigars, or the ones I’ll take to the golf course with me. D – This cigar I had a really bad experience with and I’ll not pay for another one. One or more issues regarding this cigar made it totally unsmokable. This cigar may be tried again in the future, maybe I got a bad one? F - Without a doubt, a bad cigar. Don’t buy it, don’t waste your time with it, it sucks. |
Sam’s Beer Reviews…
A – I like everything about this beer. Perfect head, color, taste, smell. B – Not quite an A, maybe something was off. Maybe the head fizzled out or didn’t quite smell right. C – More than one thing was wrong with this beer, but still worth drinking. D – Plain bad experience with this beer, but may warrant another try at some point down the road. F - Skunk. I’d rather drink day old dishwater. No room in the fridge for this one! |
